Comfort Food, Reimagined

Toasty Polvo was born from a craving—for joy, nostalgia, and something that felt like home. Rooted in the Filipino tradition of gifting polvoron to mark life’s sweetest moments, our Brown Butter Polvoron offers a rich, melt-in-your-mouth experience that blends heritage with a modern twist.

Handcrafted in New Jersey, Toasty Polvo is proud to be a woman-owned, AAPI-led small business bringing celebration to every bite. We’re building a joyful future—one polvoron at a time.

About the Founder

Toasty Polvo began in a season of uncertainty. As one chapter closed, founder Maria Javier (MJ) turned to something soft and familiar—polvoron, the Filipino shortbread of her childhood. What started as a holiday gift for friends became something deeper: a way to offer comfort, connection, and joy when the world felt heavy.

MJ isn’t new to starting from scratch. From City Hall to cake design school, she’s spent her life creating what doesn’t exist yet. Toasty Polvo is a return to an early dream—and a commitment to craft, care, and flavor that brings people together.

What MJ didn’t know until recently: her grandmother, Lola Tinay, used to make polvoron for the family in the Philippines. That discovery felt like a quiet blessing—a thread of love passed through generations. Toasty Polvo is a tribute to that legacy, blending memory with momentum, and making something that matters—with joy in every crumb.
